Ronnie James Dio - Vocals

Tony Iommi - Guitar

Geezer Butler - Bass

Vinny Appice - Drums

Scott Warren - Keyboards

The history:
There have been many people in Black Sabbath over the 30+ years of the band's history. Some folks think the band died in 1979 when Ozzy was fired. That's too bad, because there's a lot of music that's extremely good in the intervening years of the band before Ozzy returned in the late 90's. This section of the site details the various people who have been in the band. I have the people broken down into three groupings. You can get to any of them from this page. To return to this page, click on the "Band Personnel" graphic at the top of the page, or by the menu option on the left.
One other thing. Most Black Sabbath sites only seem to mention the Ozzy Osbourne years. Important though they are, they are not the only part of the band's history. I cover all eras of the band's history. No discrimination on band members here!
Alphabetical by Surname - This section lists everyone by their name, you can click on the band member you want more info on. Some folks aren't listed there, as they just did one shot gigs (like IceT on Forbidden, or Rick Wakeman on Sabbath Bloody Sabbath) - and weren't formal band members.

By Position- This section is grouped by what instrument (or vocals) they played in the band.Timeline - This page details all the changes in band lineups over the years, and there have been many! THIS PAGE IS EXTREMELY GRAPHICS INTENSIVE and may take some time to load on your browser, but it is well worth it, in my opinion. On a 56k modem, it can take almost four minutes to load (assuming your connection is not slow) fully. This is also my favourite page I've done on the web site.
